ReplyDeleteSummary: Investor relations in today's business environment is extremely important. Having a good strategy for communicating to the various investors, the public and the media is crucial. As companies maneuver through legal requirements for investor functions, they must also tread the line of showing positive results. This can be a very slippery slope.
Real Life: After looking at the functions of different investor relations, I took the opportunity to view some websites for a few corporations to see how they presented their investor information. Walmart was quite unsurprisingly a great site for a wealth of information. http://walmartstores.com/
Not surprising to me was looking at the AIG website. I wondered if they would report any information regarding their financial failings but alas...they did not. When I looked at their "latest news" area, it did not include any negative information about the company. See for yourself!
